RING-IT!?Pro-Series Telephone Line |
Ring-It! is
a two line telephone central office (telco) simulator that is designed for both
professional and personal use. With the release of our latest
"Pro-Series," it is perhaps the most feature rich two line simulator
available today.
Phone line simulators act like a phone
company central office. They can give you flexibility and lower your costs when
you are demonstrating or testing most any type of phone product. Voice and data
telecom devices recognize simulators as analog phone lines, making them ideal
for trade shows, customer sites, or the work bench.
This sophisticated
device can be used to test or demonstrate any standard telephone, answering
machine, fax unit, voice mail system, or modem (data). Due to its exceptionally
clear talk path, you can be assured of high quality voice transmissions as well
as reliable data connections using typical PC modems.
Telephone equipment
connected to the system behaves as if it were connected to a real telephone
line. For example, plug in a household telephone and you will hear accuratedial tone.
Dialing a local or long distance phone number willringa device
plugged into the test line.Busy signals
and reorder tones are also heard, just like a standard phone line. These various
call progress tones follow the popular North American specifications.
Although you can use it
as-is, right out of the box, you can alsocustomizeRing-It for your
special applications. For example, you can alter its reorder tone behavior,
network delay time, and more. Entering simple codes from a Touch Tone (DTMF)
telephone is all that is needed to program the various features. Most users will
never need to do this, but if you do, it is a very simple process to change the
settings.
Ring-It! offers
Caller-IDemulation. It is provided in North American BellCore and
Canadian Stentor single message (number only) and multiple message
(name and number) CID formats. One of five pre-programmed sample names
can be sent and the displayed directory number is easily chosen when you make
the call. Best of all, there are no PC connections or computer assisted
programming necessary to configure the Caller-ID message formats (only a
touchtone phone is needed to set it up).
TheExternal Audiojack allows you to either input or output the phone line audio to external equipment. For example, you can connect an amplified speaker system and allow everyone to hear the active phone call. This is ideal for training and demonstration applications. The buffered audio signal is a nominal one volt level and is directly compatible with low cost PC style multimedia speaker systems. |
Ring-It! can operate as
aE-911 trainingsystem. Schools, fire departments, and public safety
offices can use it for emergency 911 education programs. Now your students can
easily practice using the telephone during a simulated emergency. All you need
to add are two low cost household telephones. One is designated as the emergency
"operator" position and your students use the other to make the "911" practice
calls. They will hear real sounding dial tone and ringing, and the phone's bell
will ring in anurgent sounding(stuttered) pattern. If you use it with a
Caller-ID box then "Emergency 911" is displayed too!
An LED type digital readout is used to display the DTMF digits that were dialed, so you can even verify operation of TouchTone type push-button phones. You can choose between five different operational modes that allow standard telephone line emulation or special repetitive cycle testing, including automatic ring-up. For extra convenience, the LED readout shows the test mode that's in-use (see inset photo). |
The new Ring-It
Pro-Seriesnow supports pulse dialing, programmable network delays,
phantom test numbers, SIT response, Test Tones, operator calls, programmable
CPC, Stentor CID, and more.
